Why Light House Realty?
November 25th, Sky Clear, 39 F Winds 2mph West by Southwest
We don’t know how the light keeper found himself there. Was it an ad in the local paper? Was it a message from his uncle down the grapevine when he stopped by the farm? Was it a reply letter from the US Lighthouse Service informing him that a new post would be available following the construction of one of their latest commissioned lighthouses? Whatever it was we know it was a mix of duty and necessity that led him to that spot. He looked up at the fortress towering above him, suitcase in one hand, his heavy rain coat and sou-wester in the other. This would be home for as long as he could guess where he would use his capable hands to serve others by keeping the light burning. At the smell of the crisp salt air his gaze was pulled from the high tower back out to sea where he knew that this night or the next or any other night, could be the night where dozens if not hundreds of souls rested their safety in his hands.
We hear all the stories of heroism of lighthouse keepers. We read of the wind battered faces of the men and women that guarded their posts day and night for years on end, sometimes with not even one day of vacation. But what brought them to that point? What was the spark that brought them to that place where they wanted to sign up to protect others while receiving a meager living in compensation? I submit to you the combination of both a burden of duty and necessity. Duty to serve his fellow man has led him to looking for a vocation that breaths purpose into his work, that will bring a reason for the long toil and mundane. On the other hand, the need for steady work and to make a lively hood for himself and his family contributed an equal amount of weight to the decision.
It’s at this point where we introduce Light House Realty (LHR) and the origin of its name. LHR is an organization that is made up of a group of people whose hearts have a burden to do something that has purpose, while also fulfilling their and their families’ needs, livelihoods, and dreams. It’s a job for sure. If there was no compensation, then we would not be doing it. But at the same time, this exceptional group of individuals could easily apply their skills to countless other trades and do so quite successfully. Yet. no other task has quite the fulfillment as that of helping another person find their way through their real estate journey like being a real estate agent. Here, we will dive into what makes up a Light House agent, what they stand for, how they are trained, how they care for their clients, and how they succeed in their mission to keep the light burning for all in their path to see.
